Mr. Kaustubh Chandra Joshi is a principal in Govt. Inter College Pattharkhani, Uttarakhand with an experience of 04 years and a former mathematics lecturer in Govt. Inter College of school education of Uttarakhand with an experience of 27 years in teaching. His dedication and concern for quality education made him pursue innovative technologies and approaches to improve teaching and learning. His passion and hard work towards quality learning and education compelled him to integrate ICT and apply innovative approaches to teaching. Mathematics occupies a crucial and unique role in human societies and represents a strategic key in the development of the whole of mankind. We use mathematics everywhere in our life, however, in school students considered mathematics as an abstract concept and find it difficult to understand. For them, mathematics was a mechanical subject, which had no use in daily life. Therefore, to make mathematics more interesting and relevant for students, he incorporated ICT in her teaching process. He uses various ICT tools, digital resources and innovative approaches like ICT based lesson plans, GeoGebra, PowerPoint, MS Office, Excel, You tube, Facebook, Twitter and different components of ICT in school for teaching. He uses Ubuntu Operating system and work on free open source software. He even motivated his colleagues also through his work and encouraged them to use ICT in their teaching methods for effective results. Initiatives are taken by him to promote ICT based teaching for quality education especially in his mathematics and interdisciplinary field, established math’s lab, a digital lab for science, organized mental math quizzes. Created the school’s website etc.
