In India the primary child protection provisions are found in the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of ChildrenAct, 2015. Chapter VI of the Act lays out the procedure in relation to a child in need of care and protection and Chapter IX describes certain offenses against children, including cruelty.

Which type of laws are more important to explain to children at school level?

There are the four LAWS related to Child protection and safety -

-       PROTECTION OF CHILDREN AGAINST SEXUAL OFFENCES (POCSO) ACT, 2012

-       JUVENILE JUSTICE (CARE & PROTECTION OF CHILDREN) ACT, 2015

-       THE COMMISSION FOR CHILD RIGHTS ACT, 2005

-       INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ACT, 2000

However, it is not important that all students must know about all the acts, crimes, punishments and redressals.

It is advisable to train students on Child Rights, Child Safety, Gender Sensitization and Cyber Security,
