Dear Shalini, Good question. An idea I know teachers in the United States do is make a points system. In a notebook they can keep a record of the books or poems they complete. If they write a short summary of each work or poem, and get to a certain amount, they can be rewarded, even if only symbolically, when they return from school. Some schools here do a 100 book challenge (of course these are very small books for children), but two or three small books or poems a day they can reach this goal by the end of summer, and they will get such a wonderful sense of accomplishment. Warmly, Dr. Michael Grafals
