As a teacher, how do i engage parents initiating learning at home? How do i start the conversation?

I would start off by explaining that we are in a different situation now and because schools have closed you still want to the children to making progress at home. Don't put too much pressure on the parents or this will deter them from even trying. Suggest things like counting, singing songs, cooking etc for younger children because they will still be learning by doing activities like this. Make sure you offer them as much support as you can and a friendly face if they just want to check something with you.
