रासायनिक सूत्र CCl3NO2 है, यह एक कार्बनिक यौगिक है। क्लोरोपिक्रिन को टियर गैस या आशु गैस कहा जाता है। इसके अलावा अश्रु गैस को क्लोरो एसीटोफिनोन भी कहा जाता है।
क्लोरोपिक्रिन' एक जहरीला रसायन है, जिसका रासायनिक सूत्र CCl3NO2 है। यह अश्रु स्रावक है और त्वचा तथा श्वसन तंत्र के लिए भी हानिकारक है। 3 से 30 सेकण्ड तक 0.3 से 0.37 पीपीएम क्लोरोपिक्रिन के सम्पर्क में आने से अश्रु-स्राव तथा आँखों में दर्द होने लगता है। प्रबल अश्रु स्रावक होने के कारण क्लोरोपिक्रिन का प्रयोग अश्रु गैस के रूप में होता है।
