If a vaccine is given or in jected  into a person it generate memory ie B and T cells that recognise the pathogen quickly on subsequent exposure nd overwhelm the invaders with a massive production of antibodies

The thing in vaccine is that a preparation of antigenic proteins of pathogen  or inactivated or weakend pathogen is introduced into the body.
