Dry ice, carbon dioxide in its solid form, a dense, snowlike substance that sublimes (passes directly into the vapour without melting) at −78.5 °C (−109.3 °F), used as a refrigerant, especially during shipping of perishable products such as meats or ice cream.
The chemical name of dry ice is - Carbon Dioxide ( CO2 ) in solid state. It is also known as Cardice. Carbon dioxide gas turns to dry ice when temperature drops to -110° F , when dry ice is wormed above -110°F , it changes from solid drive straight back to CO2 gas. As does not pass through the liquid state it is called dry ice.
Dry Ice is the common name for solid carbon dioxide (CO2). It gets this name because it does not melt into a liquid when heated; instead, it changes directly into a gas.
