20 फरवरी को दुनियाभर में विश्व सामाजिक न्याय दिवस (World Day of Social Justice) के रूप में मनाया जाता है। इसका मकसद बिना भेदभाव के सामाजिक न्याय को बढ़ावा देना है। समाज में फैली असमानता और भेदभाव से समाजिक न्याय की मांग और तेज हो जाती है. समाज में फैली भेदभाव और असमानता की वजह से कई अबर हालात इतने बुरे हो जाते है कि मानवाधिकारों का हनन भी होने लगता है. इसी तथ्य को ध्यान में रखकर संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने 20 फरवरी को विश्व सामाजिक न्याय दिवस के रुप में मनाने का निर्णय लिया है.
