Dear Expert,

I have a class of 32 students, majority have lower order thinking skills. What are some activities that can help increase their attention span or thinking skills?

Hi Kritika,

Great question. I would like to know in which grades these students are in? However, in general we can:

1. Keep the kids moving: We can create such activities, games, breaks (short or long) every day for children where get the chance to move around and outside the classroom, interact and work together with teams, stretch their bodies. Like,

1. We can include a few moments of exercise before or in between the lesson.

2. Engage them in a few brain breaks to stimulate their confidence and curiosity. The link contains a few brain breaks activities -https://www.prodigygame.com/main-en/blog/brain-breaks-for-kids/
3. Engage them in drawing, creativity, art projects to increase their imagination.

4. Also, the lessons can be activity based. For example, see this video - https://youtu.be/dj0md2yqjSA?t=73 on rotation of the earth that involves kids to move their bodies.

Hope this helps.
