As we know during the period of lockdown, a lot of unconventional careers started taking centerstage. So, how as educators, we can collaborate with students' parents to allow them and help them pursue such careers?

Terrific question! Absolutely - there are some new avenues and career options that HAVE opened up. As educators, your first duty is to think clearly about WHAT questions the parents are likely to have. How to build a trustworthy rapport with parents / families and assess what might be a good option for a student. Please remember - a lot of what is happening is a mixture of two things - regular careers where some extra things have been added and some knee-jerk reactions - to the pandemic led lockdown. It would not be sensible to assume that all new careers are better/brighter than the ones prior to pandemic. So edge your way into this collaboration + conversation about why it's important to be aware and move with the times. :) Jaankaari - basic, for all new avenues should be the focus. The focus should ideally not be on getting people to MAKE those choices. There is a difference. Provide the information. Make them aware. After that leave them to decide.
