How can we teach the topic after reducing the syllabus

The students should be given a thorough knowledge even though the concept might not be in syllabus. This would help them gain an overall insight in it. The topic which is not in the syllabus should be touched upon briefly while the main focus should be on the topic which is in the syllabus. Students queries should also be addressed with great detail.
