Examination have been an even platform where all students are evaluated equally and based upon the scores a child understands where he needs to improve..
Also at secondary education, he gets to choose the subjects . based upon past performances and thus, i feel that Examinations are the key and they should be continued.

your entire premise here is based on the premise that all children have equal capabilities and interests. It reminds me of a quote by Albert Einstein "everyone is a genius, but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing it is stupid' simply put, different students have different abilities, and hence the same test for all students isn't the correct notion to gauge their capabilities and intelligence. it is agreed that they might get to know where to improve, it isn't really happening these days, for the stamp of 'marks' are considered the most important, and more than the scope of improvement, exams have become a norm of deciding your future life.

school exams do have its own importance, it helps the child to understand the scope of improvement and makes him learn the basic blocks of development and also prepares him for the bigger challenges of life.

well that way they use all of the value, as they definitely do not help with the knowledge part, as has been discussed earlier (about rote learning) making it altogether redundant.

lets be practical, the scores of our examination dont affect our future .. for getting into any big institute liikt IIT, IIM OR MBBS college, we have separate exams, and school exams focus uopn development of basic knowledge thats it.
