If you be too lenient to disobedient people' they would pay no heed to your instructions and continue breaking rules. If punished, they fear and start being disciplined which can really make their future brighter and help them set their priorities and be self-sufficient and responsible to take on challenges.
Taking harsh steps in the first occurance or at the learning stages of life should really not to be considered as an option considering the psychological hit on them.
Fear is not what you need in today's time, when everyone is already facing greater fears.
For every kunal kamra you do not have to have a supreme court, because it would just then stop the people from raising their voice against things around them.
I request everyone to not just limit it to schools and classes, it is just a minor part of this problem.
The major flaws are still lacking, but one positive of this could be the removal of this minor part for once and for all.
The topic for debate is "punishment is necessary to maintain discipline" to which my opinion is YES!
Keeping it crisp, one only understands and accepts, certain labels of the society when he is aware of the fact that if he doesn't, he would be punished. Such fear is necessary to have an impact on person's brain in order to maintain the required decorum.
The after effect of punishment should never be fear but a lesson that a student can always recall and act accordingly in their future experiences.
05 Feb 2021Ofcourse it might seem a little negative in nature, but the punishment's need not be necessarily grave. It can be of any nature. For instance- extra hw to a student for missing classes to a week long suspension for involving in unacceptable activity depending on the gravity of the action to maintain discipline.
