On 16 th April 1853, the first passenger train ran between Bori Bunder. Station and Thane. Distance was only 34 KM. Dedicated by Lord Dalhousie. The train carried 400 people.
16 अप्रैल 1853 को पहली ट्रेन चलाई गई थी और यह ट्रेन 35 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर चलाई गई. जिस वक्त यह ट्रेन पटरी पर दौड़ी उस वक्त समय हो रहा था दोपहर के तीन बजकर 35 मिनट. - यह ट्रेन बोरीबंदर (छत्रपति शिवाजी टर्मिनल) से ठाणे के बीच चलाई गई थी.
