It seems a very small fraction of population wants privatization due to their own benefits.

The answer to this would be to make sure that privatization of schools benefits all. As I mentioned earlier, how competition in any sector gets the prices down, if more private schools start existing, all will try to compete with each other to offer the best facilities in the least price and this will be beneficial to the entire society. For example how when telecom was privatized, vodafone, airtel started giving better quality than mtnl and bsnl in a much lesser price.

That is because a large fraction of our society does not have private schools catering to their needs. Private schools dont reach out to the larger fraction of the society as they are poor and not profitable
