You could have more gender inclusive approach in everything that you do. And this would happen when you see children as children and not as girls and boys. In school, you can practice the following things like:- Gender mixed sitting arrangement Use gender inclusive language, for example, use ‘children’ instead of ‘girls’ and ‘boys’. Don’t say,” boys don’t cry or girls are weak”. Ensure equal participation in classroom activities Distribute responsibilities equally Site examples of women role models in occupations like doctor, engineers, cops among others Narrate stories of mutual respect Challenge stereotypes when you see them At home:- Equal representation of roles of both parents Equal distribution of work at home for both girls and boys Avoid stating the gender stereotypes Have equal duties and rights of boys and girl
