Start the conversation with simpler and familiar topics. For example, girls and boys not sitting together or playing together. Start the dialogue first and understand the mindset of the children and then slowly introduce them to the concepts of gender and make sure that children not just understand gender through your sessions but become active agents of change in their school and society. For example, asking the children to identify discrimination in the school and what would they do to correct it. It is important that we give agency to the chidlren to bring change and not just take sessions. This motivates the chidlren in understanding the concept better and for making a difference in their own communities.
