Namaste Baljeet ji, there is no right age as such to start talk about gender. Children starts forming their notions as soon as they are born by the clothes and toys we give them based on their gender and also the gender roles they see around them. So you can start the conversation when you think the child can understand what you are saying but you can definitely include gender inclusive practices like not saying things like"boy's don't cry", "girls don't talk like this". Once you start creating gender inclusive spaces, the children will themselves behaving in that manner. we usually start simple conversation from the age of 6 as we believe that the children start forming their notion from this age and it is important to correct them before they become rigid. Also, you will treat the problem when you see it happening and not leave it for later. So if you see a child of the age 8years saying that girls are weak, you would want to correct it rather than waiting for the child to grow up. The more delayed our response is in tackling the situation, the worse it gets.
