Absolutely! I've seen a lot of senior students who find it difficult to perform basic mathematical operations. And that is majorly because they find it difficult to relate the subjects with their lives. A lot of mathematics can be taught by observation. Problem sums which are generally solved theoretically could be taught by live examples! Also the concepts of shapes, patterns, 3-D structures, Progression, Ordering, Probability, Weight, Measurements etc could be taught them better by using nature and daily life. Even Axioms and Postulates could be taught in such a manner. Ask them to relate their lessons with daily life and spend 10 minutes the next day asking them if they could do it. Break big concepts into little examples which can be demonstrated so that it becomes easier for them to grasp the theoretical concepts. Thanks.
