Teaching using nature sounds interesting. How can I teach preschoolers using nature? What concepts can be taught effectively?

Hello Mr. Salim. Learning is a chronic process. It starts with the inception of a human mind and continues panning till we die. It is interesting to know that brain grows incredibly rapidly during the formative years and a toddler picks up a lot of things involuntarily during that time. A child is inquisitive during that time and a lot of learning takes place by the virtue of senses. So, I suggest to take toddlers outside, make them visualize or feel things and answer all their questions. Try and make them accustomed to nature's sounds. Teach them colors, shapes and numbers using nature. Ask them to draw what they saw to reiterate it. This way the learning will be interesting, more effective and would also imbibe the attribute of respect towards nature and surroundings. Hope that answers your question.

Nature is a great learning resource in itself. Children are always enthusiastic about learning something new . Many learning areas like vocabulary enhancement, counting , spatial concepts , pre number concepts like big - small, far - near , etc, colours, physical activities, art integration can be done using the easily available material.
