I believe it is important to use regional languages in the class. For primary classes, while teaching it is important to make sure your students can: ? comprehend; ? talk effectively in both casual and formal circumstances; ? read with cognizance, appreciate different sorts of understanding materials; ? compose conveniently, with consistent succession and innovativeness; and ? use syntax practically in different settings Thus, as a teacher you should help your student to develop the basic language skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. The main objectives of teaching language are to develop these skills for better understanding and effective communication.

I believe, it is really important to include regional language as medium of instruction in classroom. We as a society have to give away the idea of superiority attached to English as a language. We have to treat that as other languages and promote regional ones so that individuals feel welcomed in classrooms. Students might not be able to resonate with English and that can be a dbig hindrance in their identity development. The feeling of being outcasted because of language should not be there. Moreover if a child is not comfortable in English , he/she might not be able to pose queries in classroom which again can affect his development and growth. I believe it very important to include regional language in the class.

Being a teacher in a metropolitan city is an additional challenge in this case, a lot of migrants move here for occupational purposes along with their families. It is, however, very important to include regional languages but one cannot expect the teacher to be fluent in regional languages of all the students which she has in her class. It might even appear to students that teacher is favouring a student if she is speaking in one particular language. Ideally, it would be great idea but as far as my experience is taken into account, I would say I am against it.
