ILO is framing rules and guidelines to combat the Child Labour. But, the question arises what are we doing for the same. We as a responsible citizen are not following practically. We see child labour in hotels and households. How many of us are actually working to stop that? I met a small boy and he was washing cups at a tea dhaaba, I called him and asked if he wanted to study. He was quiet happy to hear my proposal. Next day, I visited his home and the situation was totally out of control. He had 5 siblings and all were small, his father died few months back. Mother started crying in front of me if his son would not earn, who would feed the family. I was speechless. We need to come together to stop this practice by sponsoring the family along with the child.
