a plane mirror produces regular reflection of light. Since the angle of incidence and the angle of reflection are the same or equal, a beam of parallel rays falling on a smooth surface is reflected as a beam of parallel light rays in one direction only.

A plane mirror is a mirror with a flat (planar) reflective surface. For light rays striking a plane mirror, the angle of reflection equals the angle of incidence.

A ray of light that is incident on to the surface of a plane-mirror is reflected with the angle of incidence equal to the angle of reflection. ... This is called the deviation of the light and measures the angle at which the light has strayed from its initial straight-line path.
